Abstract

Russia’s special military operations in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, opened a new period in Russian history and became a turning point in contemporary international politics. Russia’s relationship with the West, which had deteriorated over the previous decade, finally broke up. While new alliances are being formed between Western countries with the US, Russia and China draw closer together. In that situation, a “rebuilding” of Russia is inevitable. On March 31st, a decree on the Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation by President Putin was born due to “fundamental changes in international life”, on which all Russia’s decisions shall be made in the medium and long term. The paper clarifies Russia’s foreign policy concept in 2023 in the context of the unresolved Russia-Ukraine conflict.
