Vietnam achieving the Millennium Development Goals
Abstract
Highlingts on the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and supporting goals of Vietnam in order to promote the achievement of MDGs are included in the report, which also mentions fruits obtained, singles out obstacles and challenges posed to individual goals, gives suggestions relating to policies to boost effective realization of the MDGs in compliance with contents set forth in the Millennium Declaration by the United Nations and the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development in the 2001-2010 period worked out by Vietnam in the coming time, draws out lessons from the implementation of the MDGs by Vietnam.
The report is a product of a joint effort given by ministries, branches of Vietnam with the main responsibility vested upon the Ministry of Planning and Investment. It was presented bay Vietnamese Vice-President Truong My Hoa to the High-Level Session of the United Nations General Assembly on 15 September 2005
