Some Features of Chinese Web Novels in the First Two Decades of the 21st Century

Abstract
In almost 30 years of formation and development, electronic literature in general and Chinese web novels in particular have achieved certain accomplishments. Chinese electronic literature faces specific drawbacks due to the influence of the virtual world and media. This paper analyzes the formation and development of Chinese web novels from the last decades of the 20th century to now. In this period, Chinese web novels developed some genres and characteristics different from traditional paper publishing, that is, diverse in genres and innovations in topics and languages despite of the need to improve the composition quality.
