Concerning gender equality, fairness in Vietnam's political system

Abstract

The renewal process, integration and development of a socialist-oriented market economy in Vietnam have bought in great economic, political, cultural, social achievements, including those in the emancipation of women, implementation of justice and gender equality in the political system. Nevertheless, in parallel with such essential achievements in the emancipation of women towards gender equality, the role of women in the modern political system is still limited, both in terms of quality and quantity. Many reasons are behind obscuring the promotion of women in the context, including the awareness on gender fairness, gender equality, gender inequality, making the issue more complicated. The research project on "Improving the leadership capacity of female personnel in Vietnam’s political system in the renewal period" is supposed to contribute to clarifying the above-mentioned issue. This article is to introduce some key contents of the project.
