Abstract

The author of this article attempts to analyze the relationship between international law and Vietnamese law in the process of making Vietnamse law compatible with international law; at the same time, to suggest certain solutions to perfectionate Vietnamese law. The views held by the author are as follows: international law must be an integral part of Vietnamese law; Vietnamese citizens can extract provisions from international treaties to protect their legitimate rights and interests; non-relevant decrees adopted by the Government must be restricted; precedents can be deemed as a source for Vietnamese law; training must be intensified in order to foster and improve the capacity of law enforcement officials; it is necessary to develop a website that publishes all international treaties, to which Vietnam is a party, making it easy for everyone to access to those treaties.
