Abstract

This article attempted to analyze the six subsequent effects resulting from the current global financial crisis that had initially gone off in the United States and its impacts on Vietnam. It concentrated on the following areas:

- Foreign direct investment and possible changes made by foreign investors in Vietnamese capital market;

- Inauspicious effects on exports;

- Choked credit activities in the country, impacting activities of medium- and small-sized enterprises.

The authors proposed some solutions aimed at benefiting this “one-time hundred years” opportunity from the crisis.
