A multi-faceted world- theory and experience in regional studies

Abstract

As a specialty of international studies, regionalism focuses on the study of territories beyond the national boundaries under the social, economic, political and cultural perspectives in relation to geo-space. By naming “A multi-faceted world”, the author implied the inter-disciplinary nature of this area of international studies, which was clearly reflected through out the content of the book. In each chapter of the book, a combination of theoretical analysis and empirical research based on well-established studies by foreign writers or researches by the author himself can be realized. The book is comprised of seven chapters: introduction; regional studies such as in Europe, America, Asia and Vietnam; national functions-architecture aspects; national combined power; nation and state under cultural spaces and national culture; cross-culture and national culture in the era of globalization; types of political region and comparing the West and the East.
