Shift of social structure in Vietnam in the renewal process

Abstract

Social structure, shift of social structure are inter alia significant, sensitive and “core”, “fundamental” issues of the social science in particular, social sciences and humanity in general. Studying social structure, shift of social structure is to understand characteristics, unique features of society; to assess the developmental level of society; to pinpoint the trade-off or bias in society. This is also “the key” to understand shifting patterns of society, by which it helps the Party and State as well as social and mass organizations to make social forecasts; to build scientific evidences that necessitate the development of policies and solutions to drive social development in a dynamic, positive and progressive pattern; at the same time, to remove downturn, uncertain trends or the risk of crackdown of the society.

Having made theoretical analysis and contextualized actual shift of social structure in Vietnam during the renewal period, the author presented some major changes in divisional basic social structures in Vietnam at the time being with a view to providing a helpful source of reference for the social restructuring in a way that is compatible with the integration trend, all-embracing renewal of the Vietnamese economy in the time to come.
