Abstract

After 25 years having implemented the renewal policy, along with critical social-economic achievements, Vietnamese society had experienced a comprehensive change at the macro- and micro-level, in all fields, from economic, political to cultural, societal, etc… In that course, social structure had also changes, moving from a social structure composed of double classes and one caste to a co-existence of multi-classes and multi-castes; from solid, simple and bureaucratic social relationships to dynamic, diversified ones; from one society bearing on a chain of traditional values to a lifestyle based on differed values.

Nevertheless, those changes had pros and cons impacts, adverse and beneficial, on the country’s development. These are the contents discussed by the author in this article.
