Ensuring equality and strengthening cooperation between/among ethnic groups in socio-economic development in our country

Abstract

Ethnicity is of increasingly paramount importance, and the great national unity is clearly becoming a profound and essential drive for Vietnam’s development in the renewal process. The book indicated fresh thoughts on the theory of ethnicity, relationships between/among ethnic groups and ethnicity policy, assessment of the socio-economic situation of ethnic minorities. It then came up with solutions with a view to addressing ethnic issues, relationships between/among ethnic groups; bringing in equity and equality in the socio-economic development process in the highlands in Vietnam at the present time. The book is composed of five chapters that are divided into three parts as follows:

Part one: Ethnicity and ethnicity policy in the socio-economic development of the nation-state

Part two: Ethnicity and relationships of ethnic groups in multi-ethnic groups populated highlands in the renewal period, from 1986 up to now.

Part three: Viewpoints, directions and solutions to ensure justice, equality and strengthened cooperation between the ethnic groups in the socio-economic development in multi-ethnic groups populated highlands in Vietnam at the present time.
