The Fourth Industrial Revolution and Its Impact on the World and Vietnam
Abstract
In the early 21st century, the term Fourth Industrial Revolution (also known as the Industry 4.0) has marked a new turning point in the scientific and technological development of human beings. This revolution has profoundly impacted on the economic development, social structure, political institutions, governments, businesses and citizens of many countries. As predicted, the Fourth Industrial Revolution willproceed in a speed unparalleled to any other industrial revolutions the humanity has ever experienced and bring unprecedented opportunities and benefits. However, this revolution poses great challenges facing the humankind in the 21st century development process, including network security, non-traditional security, employment and administrative and tectonic innovation of governments. This paper explores the nature of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and analyzes its implications for the world in general and Vietnam in particular.
