The stand of Vietnamese language in the on-going international integration period

Abstract

As a common rule, change of social aspects causes linguistic alternation in order to respond to communicative needs in the new context. Hence, since the renewal policy of the country has been translated into practice, daily using social language has seen appearance of new phenomena. New words, phrases are formulated to fill up the vacuum left over by Vietnamese language structure. However, there are not a few ways of “odd” speech and scription, causing worries about inherent identities of Vietnamese language, especially since the mass media has raised the so-called “outstanding problems”. As a researcher who has constantly followed up theories of linguistic usage as well as the rule of linguistic alternation, in this article, the writer proposed his own explanation of the afore-described linguistic phenomena and developments.
