Some Features of Contemporary Chinese Eco-Literature

Abstract
Eco-literature considers the overall benefi t of the ecosystem as its highest value. Since the 1980s of the 20th century, plenty of Chinese writers have had an inclination to create eco-literature and Chinese eco-literature has developed into a trend so far. The article explores the concept of “eco-literature” and the stages of development of Chinese eco-literature. Chinese academics have different opinions about eco-literature and divide its development into two stages: from the mid-80s to the mid-90s of the 20th century, and from the 1990s of the 20th century to now. Besides, various types of literary works are studied to illustrate the Chinese eco-literatural writers and works in their formation and development.
