Developing Eco-agriculture - A Circular Economy Model towards Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam
Abstract
Sustainable agricultural development plays an important role in all countries, especially in the context of the increasingly apparent impacts of climate change on agricultural development. Vietnam, apart from achievements in agricultural development, is among the most affected countries by climate change. Its success is seriously challenged by climate change as well as unsustainable farming methods. Against that background, eco-agriculture, i.e., the circular agriculture model, has emerged as a solution not only to ensure food security and balance the ecosystem but also to contribute to the sustainable development. The paper analyses the content of eco-agriculture and its role in the sustainable agricultural development of Vietnam. It thereby includes proposals to promote the eco-agriculture in Vietnam in the near future.
