Abstract

Approaching the 21st century, innovation in Chinese literature is reflected in several factors such as writers, readers, society, economy and culture. New trends in composition emerged during the end of 20th century and were mainly formed by the innovation of writers or demands of the readers. Chinese novels have experienced several prominent trends such as physical writing, informal writing, personalization, and Westernization. This paper, based on a historically-logically approach to Chinese trends of literature composing, provides a comparative analysis to explain the new face and increasingly diverse development of Chinese novels in the first two decades of the 21st century.
