Abstract
Supplemet of medical herbal preparation to the diets of Mia x Luong Phuong hybrid
chickens. The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of supplementing Ji Kang Ning (JKN)
medicinal herbal preparation to the diet of Mia x Luong Phuong hybrid chickens on the survival
rate, growth, meat yield and quality. A total of 333 Mia x Luong Phuong roosters were randomly
assigned to 3 lots: control without supplementation, experiments 1 and 2 supplemented with 10 and
20mg of product/1kg of feed, respectively. Experiments were carried out from 1 week to 12 weeks
of age. The results showed that: Compared with the control, adding JKN preparation to the diets of
experimental lots 1 and 2 increased the survival rate by 3.60 and 4.50%, respectively; body weights
at 12 weeks of age, respectively 18.30 and 19.90%; reduced in FCR by 0.13 and 0.27kg, respectively.
Supplementing JKN product at 20 mg/kg of feed level achieved the highest efficiency in terms of
FCR, reduced the rate of processed dehydration in thigh meat and increased the yellow color of
breast meat. Adding JKN preparation to the diet of crossbred chickens Mia x Luong Phuong was
effective.
