Abstract

Vaccination situation for dogs at veterinary clinic in Thot Not town, Thot Not district,
Can Tho city
A survey of 961 farm-raised dogs in Thot Not town, Thot Not district, Can Tho city for
treatment at Do Trung veterinary clinic gave the following results on vaccination status for dogs:
The percentage of dogs vaccinated with vaccines at the clinic was 11.13%. Types of vaccines
for dogs: RecombiTEK 50.47%, Rabisin 14.02%; Rabisin and RecombiTEK 35.51%. The highest
vaccinated dog breed: domestic dog 48.60%; foreign dogs 39.25%; hybrid dog 12.15%. Age of
vaccination for dogs: 1-6 months old 82.24%; 7-12 months old 11.22%; 13-18 months old 3.74%; >18
months old 2.80%. Method of raising vaccinated dogs: 24.30% confinement; 26.17% free, 49.53%
sold. The survey results also show that 100% of dogs vaccinated at the clinic have been and will be
re-vaccinated with the vaccine.
