Abstract

The infection of ectoparasite in dogs and treatment at Island Veterinary Clinic-Hai Phong
A study on the disease caused by ectoparasites in dogs was carried out at Island Veterinary
Clinic - Hai Phong. Research results show that there were 40 dogs infected with ectoparasites out
of 155 infected dogs brought to the clinic, accounting for 25.80%. In terms of age, all ages were
infected with ectoparasites. There was no difference in the ectoparasites infectious rate between
male and female dogs. Treatment of diseases caused by ectoparasites with 2 regimens: regimen 1
used Doramectin at a dose of 0.05 ml/kg body weight, intramuscular or subcutaneous injection,
and regimen 2 used Bravecto for taking a single tablet with different fluralaner contents. Both
regimens were highly effective with a cure rate of 100%. However, the recurrence rate was 23.07%
in regimen 1 and 6.25% in regimen 2.
