Anthropological Studies of the Eating of Ethnicities in Vietnam: Achievements and Emerging Issues in the Globalization Context
Abstract
The writing synthesizes and analyzes the results of studies of eating of ethnicities in Vietnam, which were conducted in the years of the last half of 20th century and the beginning of 21st century. In doing so, the author considers that these studies mainly were carried out among the Kinh (Viet) people and only paid attention on a number of ethnic minorities from the first years of 21st century. In order to push up research on eating of ethnicities in Vietnam in the coming time, the author emphasizes that it is needed to attach more special importance to ethnic minorities, pay attention on eating of local groups of individual ethnicities, develop interdisciplinary studies and quantitative method, interest in relationship of eating and fields of environment, livelihood, economy, health, social relation, tourism, religion and changes of eating habits in the globalization context.
