Abstract
The article analyzes models of internationalization of higher education including comprehensive
internationalization, on-site internationalization, cross-border education and academic mobility.
Based on the comparison of advantages and disadvantages, the article evaluates the applicability in
Vietnam and argues that on-site internationalization is suitable for most schools, while comprehensive
internationalization is suitable for institutions with strong resources. Some policy suggestions are
proposed to promote the internationalization of higher education in an effective and sustainable manner
