RESEARCH ON THE ENTREPRENEURIAL INTENTIONS IN DA NANG CITY OF NON-LOCAL STUDENTS IN THE TOURISM SECTOR
Abstract
This research was conducted to understand the intentions and factors influencing the decision of non-local tourism students to choose a place to establish their career after graduating. Especially the practical situation of the tourism workforce in Da Nang is still in short supply and weak in quality post Covid-19 pandemic. The study surveyed 392 non-local tourism students at universities and colleges in the city. The results showed that the majority of students (76.3%) choose to stay and work in Da Nang city after graduation because the city meets some important requirements such as many job opportunities and personal development relating to income, safe living environment, diverse and convenient facilities. However, a small portion of students (23.7%) still compare and expect more about job opportunities and especially income, therefore they want to go to other big cities, go abroad, or return to their hometown... Based on that, the study also proposed some solutions to attract and retain skilled workforce for Da Nang tourism industry.
