Abstract

Self-directed learning competency is one of the general competencies specified in the 2018 General Education Program. In Mathematics, this competency plays an important role in shaping and developing students' mathematical competencies. This paper provides an overview of self-directed learning and its role in Mathematics, thereby establishing indicators of high school students' self-directed learning competency in Mathematics based on the components of selfdirected learning competency in the 2018 General Education Program, and proposing a rubric to assess these indicators.
