DETERMINATION THE PHOTOCATALYTIC ACTIVITY IN DEGRADATION p, p’ DDT USING TiO2 IMMOBILIZED ON SILICA GEL BEADS
Abstract
The photocatalytic degradation of p, p’ DDT was carried out on TiO2 immobilized on silica gel beads (TiO2/SiO2) under light irradiation in sollution. The photocatalytic activity and adsorption efficiency in p, p’ DDT degradation have been studied. The results demonstrated that the supported silicagel has
increased the p, p’ DDT adsorption capacity. The effect of doped Co in TiO2 crystal on the photoactivity of TiO2/SiO2 was also discussed. In addition, the intermediates products of oxidation p, p’ DDT process was find out. These findings are of much interest for applications to water treatment using heterogeneous photocatalysis
