KHMER’S TRADITIONAL WEDDING IN AN GIANG PROVINCE

Abstract

Wedding is one of the important ceremonials of human life. An Giang is a shared settlement for four ethnic groups of Kinh – Hoa – Cham and Khmer. Each group has its own ways of wedding celebration. The An Giang Khmer’s traditional wedding is deemed a unique event in the Khmer’s culture. It sequentially begins with a meeting ritual, followed by engagement party and wedding party. The article is addressed to preserve the great values of the Khmer’s traditional wedding in An Giang province.
