Assessment of the Vietnamese financial market integration process- Key problems and challenges

Abstract

Financial integration is a growing trend in the world and attracts the attention of many nations. Since the openness of the economy, Viet Nam has been active in the process of international integration in general and financial integration in particular. Vietnamese financial market is not out of this trend. Commitments in bilateral, multilateral and regional agreements are carried out in accordance with the roadmap in each market segment, including the money market and bank, stock market and insurance market. The process of financial market integration has brought many positive changes to Vietnamese financial market but also posed many problems and challenges. This paper assesses the integration process of Vietnamese financial market based on the general framework for financial integration that Vietnam has participated in and points out some fundamental changes in Vietnamese financial markets as well as key problems and challenges
