The impacts of credit growth on Vietnamese banks’ bad debt

Abstract

This article focuses on investigating the impact of credit growth on credit quality, particularly the bad debt ratio of Vietnamese commercial banks. The data is collected from 17 Vietnamese commercial banks in the period from 2008 to 2017. The data used is unbalanced panel data while Pooled OLS, FEM and REM analysis methods are used for regression. The FEM regression is the most appropriate model showing the positive effect of credit growth on bad debt ratio of Vietnamese commercial banks
