Abstract

The term is often used to refer to a specific concept within a scientific system of concepts. The article clarifies some structural features of Linguistic terms in Korean and Vietnamese using the collation method as the main method in combination with statistical methods, classification and analysis, and synthesis. The research results show that the units with a low number of constitutive syllables in the two-term systems are the majority. In addition, the Korean term favors units with an odd number of constitutive syllables, whereas the Vietnamese term prefers units with an even number. Units in the group with a high number of syllables are few in number, and most Korean term subgroups have a lower percentage than Vietnamese. As can be seen, the terminology system of Korean and Vietnamese both ensures two standards of brevity and accuracy of scientific terms.
