Abstract

The consequences of corruption on economic growth and the wellbeing of the people are often severe and unfortunately not immune in any country. According to the United Nations, this is a global crisis and billions of people will have a worse life if corruption continues. Countries need to act and accountants and auditors need to act more aggressively. The Covid-19 pandemic has been going on for more than a year, there are still many unpredictable hidden risks. All governments are learning from this crisis and the need to act quickly has posed a challenge for all countries. However, most governments will soon face the inevitable challenges surrounding public sector finance during and after the pandemic. Governments urgently need to spend more money to save lives and save people’s livelihoods. But it is necessary to be transparent and responsible for the government, to minimize frauds in public financial activities.
