Medical waste management in the Covid- 19 pandemic – the circular economic approach

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has been affecting the entire economy, society and the environment; is the most serious socio-economic crisis since the second world war and is making many changes to the world order. From an environmental perspective, Covid-19 pandemic has a great impact on medical waste management, which is a hazard to the environment, makes increasing the amount of medical equipment used, such as personal items, protective equipment, injectors, etc., has a great impact on the recycling and treatment of medical waste. The article uses the approach to circular economy theory, from that gives some recommendations for the management of medical waste according to the circular economy in the context of the increasingly complicated Covid-19 pandemic.
