Abstract

High-volume fly ash concrete (HVFC) has been studied recently to solve the ash pollution of thermal power waste and environmental problems caused by the cement manufacturing industry. This study was conducted to produce concrete specimens with 70% ordinary portland cement (OPC) to be replaced by fly ash (FA, in wt.). Adding lime and silica fume additives have significantly improved the engineering properties of the HVFC products. The engineering properties such as compressive strength, flexural strength, split strength, and water absorption were evaluated according to Vietnamese standards (TCVN) being applied to commercial concrete on the market. The research results of HVFC samples were also compared with the control products according to the curing age of 3 days, 7 days, and 28 days.
