  • Hồng Hà Minh

Abstract

The Forced Labor Camp on Ba Ra mountain was a type of prison of the French colonial regime in Vietnam from the late half of the nineteenth century to March 1945 (French colonial government was coup d'etat by Japanese troops). To exile revolutionary patriots, the French colonial government founded prisons in the form of forced labor camps in secluded places. In addition, the colonial state took advantage of the labor of political prisoners and forced them to yield. No matter what the colonial authorities named this camp it was the most harsh and barbaric prison of French colonial regime during the invasion of Vietnam.
