ECOTOURISM IN TAN CHAU, AN GIANG: POTENTIALS AND REAL SITUATION

Abstract

Having lots of benefit for all stakeholders, ecotourism has become a globally and locally indispensable trend. Tan Chau township owns plentiful potentials in ecotourism but its name has not been raised as much as other areas in An Giang province. This paper aims at evaluating ecotourism potentials as well as describing the real situation of this tourism type in Tan Chau in order to make some suggestions for making the best of ecotourism in Tan Chau, An Giang. The result showed that though having lots of potentials, ecotourism in Tan Chau has not been developed adequately and effectively. The local government and community have had certain concern and orientation for ecotourism development in the future.
