THE TEXTBOOKS WRITTEN BY VIETNAMESE PEOPLE - A HIGHLIGHTED GAP IN HISTORY OF EDUCATION IN THE FEUDAL PERIOD
Abstract
Textbooks written by Vietnamese people are a part of the nuances of Vietnamese feudal education, and it can suggest directions for researching the historical values of feudal textbook treasures. Using the historical method, this article collects and systematizes all types of textbook written by Vietnamese people for use in teaching and learning during feudal times. The results show that famous Confucian scholars, when working or teaching, have written many textbooks in the categories of moral books, books explaining sutras, books on common science, books on writing, and language, telling stories. These types of books are suitable and meet the needs of teaching and learning while also suggesting a number of issues that need to be researched such as: the need to write books, awareness, educational perspectives, ancient pedagogical methods, and experiences of managing reference textbooks in schools.
