SPACE BRINGS MAGICAL COLORS IN NGUYEN HAI YEN'S SHORT STORY

Abstract

Fantasy literature has a certain position in the literature of many countries as it is attractive and conquers readers of all ages around the world. In these literary works, the fantasy element is the bridge that brings people into the magical and mysterious world of imagination and dreams. It brings a new feeling to the reader, opening up a new horizon of soaring imagination. On the other hand, it makes people not turn away from real life but always be ready to face and perceive life more deeply. Nguyen Hai Yen, a new teacher who entered the literary profession in 2016, although she has written little, the female writer's compositions have shown her own mark. With a knack for writing about the Northern Delta countryside using realistic and magical realism, Nguyen Hai Yen has left an impression through close, vivid, emotional but no less humorous stories that explore Uncovering hidden beauty, conveying the meaning of human happiness. Applying the analysis-synthesis method and the structural-systems method, the article analyzes the manifestations of magical space in Nguyen Hai Yen's short stories. Through analysis, the article points out the meaning of magical spaces in the story such as: village space, river space, cemetery space.
