Abstract

The study aims to determine the average quality of life of individuals with hypertension and various related factors, contributing initial information as a basis for proposing recommendations in the treatment, care, and management of hypertensive individuals, thereby improving their quality of life specifically and in the community in general. Method: A cross-sectional analysis was conducted on 467 individuals with hypertension in Bac Binh, Binh Thuan, in 2023, using the WHOQOL- BREF tool. The analysis of related factors was done using a multivariate linear regression model. Results: The average quality of life scores in the domains of physical health, mental health, social relationships, and environment were 52.52, 49.96,   57.57, and 54.79, respectively. Factors related to the quality of life of individuals with hypertension include age, education, occupation, household economics, marital status, living with others, chronic comorbidities, duration since hypertension diagnosis, degree of hypertension, family history of hypertension, satisfaction with treatment services, and participation in social activities. Conclusion: The quality of life of individuals with hypertension in Bac Binh is at an average level and needs attention for improvement
