TYPES OF AGRICULTURAL WORDS IN NGHE TINH AREA BASED ON THEIR FORMATION AND STRUCTURE

Abstract

Nghe Tinh is an area with a long history of Vietnamese people. Since primitive times, the local residents have been living on agriculture therefore the specialized agricultural lexis of Nghệ Tĩnh are morphologically the units formed of the morphemes like other types of Vietnamese words; simultaneously, they are also the naming units (seen from appellation). From the results of statistics and classification of 4,091 collected words, it can be concluded that specialized agricultural lexis used within Nghe Tinh area, like the common ones in the national language, have all the lexical types including simple words, compound words, alliterative words, and naming words; the rates between word and word, word and phrase are of different levels.
