AN OVERVIEW OF SOME STUDIES ON THE POSITIVE IMPACT OF CHATBOTS ON LEARNERS’ ACHIEVEMENTS AND EXPERIENCES WORLDWIDE

Abstract

This paper focuses on analyzing the impact of chatbots on learners' academic achievement and learning experience globally, with a focus on adult learners such as university students, short-course participants, etc. The main objective is to synthesize studies that evaluate how chatbots can support the personalization of the learning process, provide positive feedback, and promote learning motivation. The research method used is document analysis. The results show that, through numerous cases of chatbot application in various subjects worldwide, chatbots have significant potential in personalizing learning, improving academic achievement, and enhancing learners' learning motivation. Specifically, about 85% of surveyed learners reported feeling more engaged in learning, and 70% appreciated the effectiveness of the personalized support provided by chatbots. This study provides an overview of the potential application of chatbots in the global education field, thereby opening up research directions on chatbot application in education in Vietnam in the author's subsequent papers.
