Scholars and academic libraries in digital scholarship environment

Abstract

    The paper provides an understanding of the concept, scope and elements of digital scholarship. The paper also indicates how academics (including researchers, lecturers, and learners) work and their needs in the digital environment. This is followed by a reidentification of the role of the academic libraries along with a number of digital scholarship support services.
