ON THE VERTEBRATE FAUNA IN TAYNGUYEN

Abstract

     Tay Nguyen is high land area with share the border with Quang Nam in the north; Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan in the east; Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc in the south; Attapeu (Lao) and Ratanakiri và Mondulkiri (Campuchia) in the west. The area of Tay Nguyen is 54.641,0 km², included 3.442.180 ha forested area, approximate 61,9%. Identified 675 species of vertebrate, included 169 species of mammal; 412 species of bird; 64 species of reptile; 30 species of amphibian. There are 128 specious and rare species (approximate 19,4%). In which 58 species of mammal; 39 species of bird; 31 species of reptile and amphibian have been identified in Tay Nguyen.
