INITIAL RESULTS OF THE PROJECT “ESTABLISHING A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT INDICATOR SET INCLUDING ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL FIELDS IN CENTRAL HIGHLANDS’ PROVINCES”.

Abstract

The project has been carried out for over a year and obtained some initial results. The content, procedure, methodology, and methods of establishing the sustainable development indicator set in Central Highlands (SDI) have figured out. The project has also proposed a list of sustainable development indicators for Central Highlands consisting of 77 indicators at regional scale, 70 indicators at provincial scale, 49 indicators at district scale. The SDI could comprehensively show overall development process toward sustainability by 13 themes (the economic field - 3 themes, the social field - 5 themes and the environmental field - 5 themes). The paper has indicated SDI’s significance through linkages between the sustainable development indicators and the sustainable development themes.
