Abstract

Optimizing tetrodotoxin (TTX) productivity of Shewanella baltica M37 has been conducted under the multivariate experimental planning method based on data recording the impact of each factor. In the optimization topic, all factors have been investigated simultaneously within the fixed intervals, including pH of medium, temperature, duration of cultivation, and concentration of supplemental substance. For the best growth of Shewanella baltica M37, optimal culture conditions are as follows: pH = 6.3, temperature = 24.60C, duration = 3.7 days, concentration of supplementalsubstance = 7.3%, so that the TTX concentration will be obtained at the highest value (11.6% higher than the control conditions do).
