Abstract

Until now, we have collected a lot of Han Nom material units noting about the Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa, Truong Sa archipelagoes and sea areas of Vietnam in the East sea and expressing the consistence on stance and view of Vietnam’s feudal state which managed Hoang Sa archipelago and the sea areas of Vietnam in the East Sea. These materials have a very important scientific value and are the legal basis to assert the sovereignty of Vietnam over Hoang Sa and the sea areas of Vietnam in the East Sea. The contents of these Han Nom materials can be generalized into the three following main issues: every year, the feudal state sent people to the Hoang Sa archipelago to do measurement, demarcation, and mapping in order to submit to the court; the state set up the navy called Hoang Sa, Bac Hai to perform the voyages to manage sea areas and islands; Vietnam feudal state always paid attention to educate Vietnam generations about the respect of sovereignty over Hoang Sa archipelago and the sea areas of Vietnam in the East Sea.
