Abstract

Research on perfecting the development technology of 2 new Shan tea varieties PH12, PH14 showed that: growing time of cuttings that was over 105 days gave the highest yield (2 million cuttings per ha), and that of 95 days or over resulted in the rate of type A cuttings over 70%. After 3 months of growing cuttings, cover truss should be opened 25% and then gradually increase 35%, 45%, 60% and 100% in 4, 5, 6 and 8 next months respectively for optimal height growth of the tea seedlings. Use of mineral fertilizer N:P:K in the nurseries following the ratios: After 90 days 10:5:10, after 120 days 13:5:10, after 150 days 15:10:15, after 180 days 17:10:15, after 210 days 20:10:15, after 240 days 20:10:20 gave the rate for the garden > 85%. Using additional organic fertilizer (Song Gianh) at 4 tons/ha gained the highest yield of 17.60 tons/ha that increased 17.33% as compared to the control. Cutting, picking tea by machines, the growth indicators: plant height, canopy width, canopy thickness would be better than those indicators when cutting by machines + picking by hands; bud density reached 401.6 buds/m2, tea productivity reached 16.9 tons/ha; bud material quality was good. During the heat insulation of yellow tea pile, the temperature increased from 1.1 to 1.4oC; the humidity of different formulas were not significantly different and reduced from 5.0 to 7.2% compared with before insulating; tea leaves turned from green into yellow green, green yellow and yellow. Insulating yellow tea pile at 30 cm thickness was the best. Two new tea varieties are suitable for processing Pho nhi tea (Pu-erh tea) when incubated with water by 30% volume of brewed tea, incubated weight was 500 kg of dry tea for the best tea quality which reached 85 organoleptic points.
