Abstract

             Geological developing history of Tu Chinh - Vung May has been complicated with 6 stages corresponding to 6 sequences as follows: Sequence 1 (Sq1) corresponding to early Oligocene (E3 1); Sequence 2 (Sq2) corresponding to Late Oligocene (E3 2); Sequence 3 (Sq3) corresponding to Early Miocene (N1 1); Sequence 4 (Sq4) corresponding to Middle Miocene (N1 2); Sequence 5 (Sq5) corresponding to Late Miocene (N1 3); Sequence 6 (Sq6) corresponding to Pliocene - Quaternary (N2-Q). Each sequence is composed of 3 systems tracts - lowstand systems tract LST, transgressive systems tract LST and highstand systems tract HST. Each systems tract of Cenozoic sediments in Tu Chinh - Vung May area has been expressed by the formula of lithofacies association and systems tract: LST = ar LST + mt/amr LST + (amr+mr) LST; TST = Mt TST + amr/mt TST + mt TST; HST = amr HST + mt/amr HST + mr HST.
