RESEARCH ON THE POSSIBILITY OF SHORTENING DRYING TIME AND SAVING ENERGY BY STEP-WISE CHANGE IN DRYING AIR TEMPERATURE.

Abstract

             This paper presents the results of research on the possibility to shorten drying time as well as the ability to save energy through intermittent drying by step-wise change in drying air temperature within the convective drying scale by heat pump (25 to 400C). The study results have shown that the drying time can be shortened by 4.52%, and energy savings can reach 19.86% as compared to continuous drying.
