STUDY ON PREPARATION OF LIPOSOME BY THIN FILM HYDRATION METHOD

Abstract

            Liposome is prepared by thin film hydration method with main ingredients including doxorubicin/amphotericin B, hydrogenated soybean phosphatidylcholine, distearoyl phosphatidylglycerol and cholesterol. Some parameters belonging to the formula as well as the preparation procedure which affect the liposome size and the performance of drug entrapment have been investigated. The results have shown that the obtained liposome has had small dimensions (below 200 nm by doxorubicin and below 300 nm by amphotericin B), consistent distribution (PDI<0.2), and high percentage of drug entrapment (above 90% by doxorubicin and above 85% by amphotericin B).
