Abstract
The study evaluated the hepatoprotective activities of extracts of the root of Paramignya trimera in the liver damage induced by paracetamol in mice experiment. The results indicate that at daily doses of 10 g/kgP oral route in course of 7 consecutive days, the water extract showed promising effect by decreasing serum AST and ALT concentrations, reduced the liver histopathological injury which were induced by paracetamol. The methanol extract exhibited strongs protective effect on hepatotoxicity tests with the activities was adequated to those of Sylimarin at the dose of 50 mg/kgP.
